The HVT: Remington 700

Like a good pistol grip? This versatile workhorse of a stock has that and more. It makes a great base for a top tier competition rig or a compact deer rifle for the eastern woods. Whatever floats your boat. Ergonomics and durability without the excess weight

Category: ,

Description

The HVT  is equally at home on general purpose Hunting guns, dedicated Varmint rigs, and precision Tactical rifles. Our design goals for this stock were pretty straightforward. We wanted excellent ergonomics and functionality, and we wanted a reasonably light weight without sacrificing features, rigidity, and strength. We’ve achieved those goals with the HVT. The pistol grip is slightly swept back for comfort in a variety of shooting positions. The comb has minimal drop to allow good cheek weld and eye alignment with optics but the bolt can still be removed from the action if needed. It’s available standard with lightweight fill and heavy weight fill is available to suit your project’s needs.

This stock is designed to fit the Remington 700. It will fit the many 700 “clones” out there with varying degrees of accuracy. Clones differ from the 700 in various ways and fitting may be necessary in some or all of the following areas: receiver tang, ejection port, bolt notch and bolt stop. Proper installation and bedding can easily resolve most of these differences.

Some Key Features:

  • 100% Carbon fiber shell construction
  • High-strength, integral, carbon reinforced pillars
  • CNC machined inletting for precise fit
  • No cartridge limitations (as long as it’s a shoulder-fired cartridge that is!)
  • High-strength fill for increased rigidity

A note on stock fit:
Though not absolutely required, barreled actions should be properly and carefully bedded into their stocks when building a good rifle. Our stocks are made with this in mind. They’re designed to accommodate factory and some aftermarket components and you’ll find they fit very precisely in most cases, and with just a bit of wiggle room for masking and bedding.  Variations in models, production runs, and the installation of aftermarket parts can prevent the stocks from achieving the perfect fit out of the box.  While we do our best to ensure an excellent fit across the broadest range of components, we can’t guarantee perfection. For example: you may find that your barrel points more to the left or to the right in the barrel channel. Threads on the action or barrel that wander even slightly (among other issues) can easily cause this and isn’t something we can control. A great solution to this and numerous other problems is bedding.
